It's finally getting warm enough to take my kayak out. I've been out once so far but want to go a lot. Is it good exercise? Will it help me lose weight and tone up? I find running to be boring not to mention every time I tell my mom i'm going running she thinks I'm going to be killed or kidnapped, and I'm 21 . Also, I hate exercising indoors. What outdoor activities could I add to kayaking that would be fun and healthy? Thanks

Kayaking good for muscle building?
i didn't want to go to the gym cause its so boring so i decided i'll go kayaking int he summer. I was wondering if kayaking built a big upper body with sufficient amount of proteins, if i take protein powder will it give me broder shoulders and bigger chest?

What kind of Kayak should I buy?
I am looking to buy a Kayak for light usage. I mostly want one so I can do deep water free soloing rock climbing without rope or harness over deep water . The main usage would be on calm water, and not hardcore rapids. Being able to hit minor rapids wouldn't be too bad though. Here is some more background info that might be helpful I am about 5' 7" and 120lbs. I live in a desert where it can get up to 115 F in the summer. O, and I am a male. I have a few 5 10 mile kayaking trips over calmish water, so I have some minor experience.I appreciate all answers even the trolls I forgot to include my budget... I am looking to spend about $200usd, but thats just a rough number. I wouldn't want to spend alot more, but I would love to spend alot less.
